Skip has been a student of defensive shooting and tactics for over 30 years.  He started down this path at Army OSUT in 1989.  He then spent the next four years as an infantryman in the 10th Mountain Division, with deployments to Panama (twice) and to the Middle East.  Skip has completed multiple IronMan Triathlons and competed at the US Masters Nationals as an Olympic Weightlifter.  (Yes, that's a very weird combination.)  Skip has been shooting competitively for over 20 years and as of late, competes in IDPA shooting competitions. He has earned the rank of Master Shooter in three different categories.

For those of you that are looking at training with T3, far more important than any individual accomplishments Skip has achieved is his Coaching background.      Over the past 30 years, Skip has been an instructor/Coach in 9 different sports/shooting disciplines.  He has Coached competitors that have won National Championships, competed at the World Championship level in their sport and have stood on the podiums at World Championships.  For the past 5 years, Skip has been a full-time Lead Instructor in a nationally recognized self-defense program.  In that program he taught individual and team defensive tactics, utilizing both live fire and Force-on-Force training scenarios.

Skip's commitment to you is that you will leave every class you take with him better able to defend yourself and your loved ones.

    CQB for the American civilian.

What we teach in this class is safe, efficient, effective movement in a structure with a gun in your hand. If you are clearing your house after hearing a bump in the night, you are doing CQB. You should know how to do that.

If you have been training with us, all of the postures and positions that you have been trained to use in DC.3, DC.4, and DC.5 will now be put to use in the shoot house.

You will need to have completed DC.3 and DC.5 prior to taking this course.

CQB.1 is an airSim course. You will not need to bring any live gear with you. All airSim equipment will be provided.

    Topics covered include:

    Threshold clearance techniques

Corner and center-fed door entry techniques

    CQB for the American civilian.

    --

There are only two places that gunfights happen for a civilian in the US. Inside structures. Outside structures. That's it. The skills you learn in our CQB training track are designed to give you the best chance of winning a gunfight inside a building.

    --

In this eight hour course we will work to improve your execution of the Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) you learned in CQB.1, but in a much bigger structure. We will be using the new shoot house up at Empire Gun Club, which is a much, much larger and more complex structure to clear. Additionally, most larger buildings have hallways. How you move into and out of the hallways is different than if moving room-to-room. You will also learn breaching TTPs for opening doors.

    --

For CQB.2 we will be using airSim guns. You will not need to bring any live gear with you. You do need to bring your airSim protective gear. Full skin coverage and full face mask. Doubling your support hand glove with a welding glove/heavy leather work glove over your thin tactical glove is HIGHLY recommended.

    --

    Prerequisite:

You must have completed CQB.1 to take this course.
